Is there anything good inside of you?, 0:00-1:03. Transcr./approximation: KS (update fall 2024, deposited at the I-depot, The Hague). Notes:
- As it comes to who exactly is playing which notes, none of this is precise. The sound quality of the tape is reasonable, but not bright enough
for me to recognize various details.
- Bars 21-31: what sounds as bass notes may also come from lower toms having pitches.
- The drum part is only included for showing the manner it is present (needed for my description), without following the tape with much detail.
- Various elements could be taken over from the One size fits all Guitar book.
Anton Webern, Variations for piano (op. 27), mvt. I, bars 1-10, containing pauses of a 16th note in bars 1-7.
"Variations for piano" is an example of Webern's short pieces, applying the 12-tone technique in a very concentrated form. To me too concentrated to be able to follow it by
just listening, but when studying the score and analyses of it as well the idea behind it becomes understandable. In this case you have to realise that two shapes of
a 12-tone row are played simultaneously.
